The Retreat
Drive a little past the busy heart of Ooty and the world softens. The road narrows, the air cools, and rows of tea unfurl in every direction. At the end of it sits Fern Ville — a small cluster of cottages sitting right in the middle of the garden, with valleys falling away on one side and mountains rising on the other.
Mornings begin with birdsong and the smell of wet earth and fresh leaf. Days drift between long walks along the tea rows, cups of estate-grown chai on the veranda, and afternoons watching clouds pour over the ridgeline. Evenings are for a crackling fire and a sky thick with stars — the kind you forget exists in the city.
There is no reception bell, no queue, no rush. Just a handful of thoughtfully finished homes, warm hosts, and the deep quiet of the Nilgiris. Fern Ville is for people who want to do very little, very beautifully.

Sleeps 4–5
Our most spacious home, made for families and small groups. Two bedrooms, each with its own attached bathroom, wrap around a generous living and dining space where everyone naturally gathers. Big windows pull the tea garden and mountains right into the room.
Sleeps 2–3
The same warm, well-finished cottage feel in a cosier footprint — perfect for couples or a solo traveller who wants room to spread out. One en-suite bedroom paired with a snug living and dining nook, and the same uninterrupted views of tea and mountains.
Signature
Our signature stay — a grand one-bedroom studio built for indulgence. A real, active chimney fireplace anchors the room, with a king-size bed, deep sofas, a proper dining table and a refined attached bathroom. It's the room you book when the evening by the fire is the holiday.
The Experience
Wander the estate rows at first light, when the mist still hangs low and the leaf is being plucked.
